Full-body Wearable Therapy™ for SCI

Wearable devices for individuals living with spinal cord injuries, designed to support mobility and independence.

Spinal Cord Injury

Understanding Your Condition

Spinal cord injuries can dramatically impact mobility and quality of life. AxioBionics provides wearable devices that work with your body to support function, maintain muscle mass, and support limb circulation. Our FDA-cleared devices deliver TENS, NMES, and FES therapy that can be used at home, extending beyond the clinic walls.

Benefits of Wearable Therapy™

How AxioBionics helps with Spinal Cord Injury

Maintains muscle mass

Manages muscle spasms

Manages pain

Increases range of motion

Supports limb circulation

Supports muscle re-education

Our Approach

Management & Therapy

Between therapy sessions, affected muscles remain dormant. Our approach combines TENS, NMES, and FES with wearable technology to convert muscles from dormancy to actively engaged in contractions and therapy throughout the day, every day. This allows for extended therapy times that would be impossible with traditional clinic-based sessions alone.

Beyond the Clinic

Traditional rehabilitation is limited to clinic hours. With AxioBionics Wearable Therapy™, you can continue your therapy at home, during daily activities, even while resting. Our systems are designed to integrate seamlessly into your lifestyle — greatly extending therapeutic time without the burden of additional clinic visits.

Common Symptoms

  • Paralysis or weakness in limbs
  • Loss of sensation
  • Muscle spasms
  • Chronic pain
  • Reduced mobility

Preventing Regression

Once gains are made, it's critical to maintain them. Without ongoing treatment, a paralyzed arm will tend to regress. In most cases, the regression is faster and more severe than the original loss. All-day management is required to manage the effects of paralysis. Our Upper Extremity BioSleeve® is designed for all-day management of the paralyzed arm.

Drew Clayborn: Living with Quadriplegia

Drew uses a full AxioBionics garment suite 3 to 5 hours a day. The wearable therapy exercises his muscles so well that his fingers and toes have never curled up — eliminating the need for braces on his hands or feet. Since beginning Wearable Therapy™, Drew has had virtually no loss of muscle, very good muscle tone, and minimal spasms.

Wearable Therapy for High-Level Spinal Cord Injury

AxioBionics specializes in wearable therapy for spinal cord injury, including those with high-level SCI in need of muscle stimulation and pain alleviation for all muscles or areas of the body.

Precise Electrode Placement for Targeted Therapy

Our clinicians use self-adhesive electrodes to perform muscle testing and identify the optimal placement points for each patient. This personalized approach ensures that electrical stimulation is delivered precisely where it is needed most, maximizing therapeutic benefit.
