Drew Clayborn's Story
Quadriplegia
“Since I began using the AxioBionics garments, I have had virtually no loss of muscle. I have very good muscle tone and minimal spasms.”
— Drew Clayborn
AxioBionics specializes in wearable therapy for spinal cord injury, including those with high-level SCI in need of muscle stimulation and pain alleviation for all muscles or areas of the body.
Drew Clayborn broke his neck doing a backflip for a school play at Walled Lake Central High in 2010, at age 15, leaving him paralyzed and breathing on a ventilator.
Despite his injury, Drew went on to become a student at the University of Michigan, majoring in mathematical biology. He lives in a dormitory and is active in school events.
Drew uses a full AxioBionics garment suite 3 to 5 hours a day. The wearable therapy exercises his muscles so well that his fingers and toes have never curled up — eliminating the need for braces on his hands or feet.
"All of them! I don't have to wear any braces on my hands or feet though, because the garments exercise my muscles so well that my fingers and toes have never curled up," Drew says of his AxioBionics products.
